What the flat rate actually changes

Most truck rental in Tampa is priced as a low daily rate plus a charge for every mile. That works out cheaply if you are driving across town and expensively if you are not, and either way you cannot know the total until you hand the keys back.

Ours is one number for the day with 200 miles included, then $0.35 a mile beyond that. The practical difference is not really the price — it is that the meter is not running while you load, while you queue at the dump, or while you sit in traffic on the Howard Frankland.

Be honest with yourself about distance, though. Per-mile pricing genuinely wins on very short local moves. Flat pricing wins as soon as the day involves real driving, and it removes the guesswork on all of them.

What our trucks actually are

Both are regular-cab pickups with long beds. That means two or three seats up front and no rear row — they are load-carriers, not family vehicles.

This matters more than it sounds. If you are moving a flat and need to carry three people as well as the furniture, a regular cab will not do it, and you would be better off with one of our SUVs plus a separate trip. We would rather say that here than have you find out in the car park.

What you need to bring

A physical driving licence — not a photo of one — and the card you paid with, in the same name. Upload the front and back of the licence to your booking beforehand and collection is just handing you the keys.

You must be at least 21. Free cancellation up to 48 hours before pickup, so booking early costs you nothing if plans change.

Is there a mileage limit on the truck?

There is an allowance rather than a limit: 200 miles a day are included, and beyond that it is $0.35 a mile. Nothing stops you driving further — you just pay for the extra distance rather than being turned away.

Can I move a one-bedroom flat in one trip?

Usually, yes — both trucks have long beds. Bring straps and something to cover the load, because an open bed in a Tampa afternoon shower is an open bed.

Do you rent trucks for commercial work?

For your own jobs, yes. Reselling the rental, ride-hailing, or using it as a commercial hauling vehicle for third parties is not permitted — that is in the rental agreement you sign before collection.
